Carnival of Miracles for Our Sires
Menangle was a happy hunting ground in 2023 with big ticket wins for both CAPTAINTREACHEROUS and BETTING LINE. On the opening night, it was a stirring duel up the Menangle straight between eventual 1:49.1 winner Catch A Wave and runner up Captain Ravishing in the GR1 Chariots of Fire, but for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS the result was a success in both cases! Fillies were front and centre on the middle night and BETTING LINE took the quinella of Windy Hill Tara over Soho Seraphine in the 2023 GR1 NSW Oaks. Earlier, exciting CAPTAIN filly Lux Aeterna won the GR3 Pink Bonnet. The climax of the carnival came with Catch A Wave becoming CAPTAIN‘s latest millionaire with his victory in the Grand Circuit GR1 Miracle Mile in 1:48.8.

…But a Colt Does the Job in Sydney!
At the opening Nutrien Equine sale in Australia at Riverside, CAPTAINTREACHEROUS lots were yet again in demand. This time, the sales topper was a colt, the son of Return To Me who brought $200,000 after spirited bidding. As in New Zealand, he also took the second highest lot, with the colt out of Senora Rapido bring in $160,000. BETTING LINE‘s Lady Euthenia colt was also at the high end of the sale with $62,500. Congratulations to all vendors and purchasers of yearlings by our World Class sires so far in 2023.
