Two great results at Melton for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS across the weekend of his seven winners overall… Perfidious Sue trotted TR1:56.7 to win the Vicbred Platinum Trotting Mares Sprint Championship Final while Encipher clocked 1:53.6 to win the Ladyship Cup and put her earnings over $1.63m. Filly All You Need Is Me kept her unbeaten run in tact with a win at Addington while at Wagga Carbineer became CAPTAIN‘s latest new winner in just his second start. Chillin put three in a row at Albion Park, Captain Dan posted a 21m win at Carrick and at Gloucester Park, Rascal pushed past $125,000 in earnings with lucky win #13.
The opening yearlings sales for 2024 took place over the weekend too, with TALL DARK STRANGER‘s first lots to be offered in the southern hemisphere bringing $60,000 (APG Gold Coast) and three STAY HUNGRY yearlings selling at both APG and Nutrien Tasmania for an average of almost $20,000.
