A solid week for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS on the track and in the sale ring. Gelding Keayang Tokyo posted a track record time of 1:55.0 at Terang to secure the Tontine Pacing Championship, while fellow 4YO Lady Jen was back on the scene at Gloucester Park, chalking up her eight lifetime victory. A Redcliffe double resulted with Master Charles taking his second consecutive win in a Trot Rods heat and mare Highly Respective in by 8.6m to top $78,000 in earnings. Up the road at Albion Park, 2YO filly Arrive collected the QBred Breeders Classic Consolation while at Karaka for the NZB National Weanling Sale, Captain colts led the results, bringing $80,000 and $60,000 respectively.
Once again, CAPTAINTREACHEROUS stock top the lists… The top two lots at NZB Standardbred’s National Weanling Sale were both sons of CAPTAINTREACHEROUS – Breckon Farms’ Spandau Ballet colt fetched the top price at $80,000 and Brogden Lodge’s Juice Brogden colt brought the next best price at $60,000. Congratulations to these astute vendors.
Of our past roster it was SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE back on top with four winners – Eve Crocker, Zeuss, Twilight Beach and Tairlaw Toll – followed by BETTING LINE (Blazin Chimes & Cold Hard Cash) and ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Glenledi Commander & Dynasty) with doubles. Also represented were FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (John Richard), WESTERN TERROR (Western Ricki) and ARTISTIC FELLA (Roslyn Gaye).
