STAY HUNGRY remains firmly on top of the Australian Freshman Sires’ table on overall winners – ten from just 19 starters including now dual-winning filly Hunger Strike who clocked 1:54.9 to win by 12m in a heat of the APG Graduate 2YO Series at Albion Park. In North America, his progeny have just ticked over $11.73m in earnings!
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS – as always – had a brace of great weekend results, headlined by a 20m routing at Launceston for 3YO Octagonise, his second consecutive win and on the same card, De Goey tipped over $84,000 in stakes with his Raider Stakes heat win. Three-year-olds Magician (Addington) and Jorge Street (1:54.9, Wagga) were also on CAPTAIN‘s weekend list as well as La Captain who went back-to-back at Mildura to bring up $195,000 in earnings. His Australian progeny average earnings now sit at over $77,000!
In North America his latest crop are showing themselves to be another quality bunch – his two-year-olds took a slew of divisions across the PA Stallion Stakes and Kindergarten Series across the weekend – Westwinds (1:55.1, 2YO filly), Fallout (1:52.1, 2YO colt), Captain Optimistic (1:51.3, 2YO colt) and Ascendance (1:51.2, 2YO filly).
BETTING LINE yet again proved to be the best of our past sires at home, with five winners – Ubetcha Tigerpie, Deadline, Wings On The Line, Betting Jewel & Lucky Zara – while there were winners for WESTERN TERROR (Major Mickey) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (God Bless You).
