What a huge weekend for STAY HUNGRY! London Baby did it very easily at Albion Park, the filly clocking 1:57.4 with ease in her Qbred Triad heat. It was his second local two-year-old winner for the weekend with Heeza Malteeza sizzling in 1:54.8 at Newcastle.
At Woodbine Mohawk Park, another of his two-year-old fillies, Au Jus Hanover, claimed the $68,000 Whenuwishuponastar Final in 1:53 while further south at The Meadows his three-year-old daughters took two of the three Pennsylvania Sires Stakes divisions – Melmar Melmar in 1:51.2 and Lyons Legend in 1:51.3!
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS had his usual dominant weekend with seven local winners and in North America, joining STAY HUNGRY on the list with colt Ayeaye Captain Deo taking the $81,000 Dream Maker Final (Woodbine) for two-year-olds and star filly Rocket Deo posting 1:49.1 to win a $73,000 division of the Romola Hanover (The Meadows).
At home, there were good times and good money – Sahara Breeze took her bank to over $205,000 with a win at Wagga, Franco Sinatra topped $92,000 at Addington, Jewel Melody surged past $522,000 at Albion Park brining up her second consecutive win in 1:53.7, and Captain Maastrict topped $75,000 with his 1:55.5 win in the Cranbourne 1000 Final. At Newcastle, My Ultimate Carter stopped the clock at 1:53.3, while it was 1:55.9 at Gloucester Park for Rascal who won by 9.7m and at Narrogin, Chillin took his earnings to the $45,000 mark.
