This week’s highlight was a new personal best for STAY HUNGRY two-year-old Heeza Malteeza (bred by R Xerri) who clocked 1:53.5 in his NSW Breeders Challenge heat win at Menangle! CAPTAINTREACHEROUS mare Gina Del Ray (D & J Quinlan, K Rollinson, E Rayner, P White, N Tyrrell, I Braszell) also put in a blistering time at Albion Park, taking her fifth win in 1:54.5. At Port Pirie CAPTAIN had a new winner in Greers Legacy (Bill Harbison) who saluted by over 4m, Squadron (John Gibson Family Trust) who claimed his second consecutive win at Penrith, and in Addington, fellow three-year-old Treacherous Baby (B & C Whitelock) topped up her bank to $88,000 with her salute.
The Lexington Sales have also been giving our boys good results – BULLDOG HANOVER colt Dax Seelster brought $350,000 in the ring, followed by Bikini Seelster at $150,000, while TALL DARK STRANGER stock were in demand too – Ubrute ($150,000) and Thiago Hanover ($115,000) being his top picks. STAY HUNGRY filly Rain Or Shine commanded $87,000 while CAPTAINTREACHEROUS topped the pacing sire’s table for overall spend, his lots bringing in a total of $3,867,000 including filly Balerion ($380,000) and colts Treacherous ($300,000), Jumpin Jack Deo ($250,000) and Captain Wonderful ($200,000) with seven $100K+lots in total.
Yet again BETTING LINE headed our past roster results with four winners – Perun, Fifty Each Way, A Duke To Be and Snip Of Beauty – while BLISSFULL HALL (Pops Boy & Cresco Threepeat) and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Shark Dancer & Ashford Shark) both had doubles. Also represented were JET LAAG (Asharah) and WELL SAID (Miss Poppys Friend).
