CAPTAINTREACHEROUS just keeps producing, with five winners across the weekend headlined by Cool And Classy (bred by Solid Earth) taking out the $125,000 Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale 2YO Fillies Classic at Albion Park. Her six-metre win left her formline reading seven wins from eight starts, and her bank in the realms of $232,000 – yet another CAPTAIN daughter to be a star in the making, we look forward to seeing if she reaches the heights of Encipher, Millwood Nike and Tough Tilly!
Class breeders Breckon Farms produced three of CAPTAIN‘s weekend winners – new two-year-old winner Nothing But You (Banks), fellow baby Party Central (win #2 at Newcastle) and Hot And Treacherous who tipped over $490,000 in earnings with his 1:51.1 win at Albion Park. Also at Banks, mare Tokyo Rose (R Cornelius) claimed another win to edge ever closer to $60,000 in earnings.
We are so proud of what CAPTAINTREACHEROUS continues to achieve in the southern hemisphere. His Australian 2YO average earnings this season run at over $34,000 per starter – almost $10,000 more than his nearest sire rival, while his overall all-time average has now hit $83,000. Worldwide, he has sired horses who’ve collective won well over $116,000,000!
In North America, STAY HUNGRY has similarly impressive figures – with Zeppole Hanover’s 1:53.1 win in a division of The Bally’s Randy at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, the breakout sire’s average progeny earnings over there hit $61,940. Here at home, his debut crop has put him at the head of the first season sire’s table for average earnings, his eighteen winners (equal to any other first season sire) posting $17,157 each on average.
Of our former roster, BETTING LINE continued to impress, securing six winners for the weekend – Remission, Chilli Punter, Our Rebel Yell, Flojos Best, Young Bluey and Big Black Betty. WESTERN TERROR took a treble with You Little Terror, Im Alright and Cordero while there were doubles for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Starzzz Destiny & Lifeisbutadream) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Somethingforlexy & South Coast Arden). BLISSFULL HALL (Cresco Threepeat) and ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Racketeers Boy) were also represented over the weekend.
