A huge week for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with the super sire securing ten winners for the week plus a big two-year-old feature in America!
Heading the local pack was Captains Knock (bred by John Rutter) who clocked 1:55.4 in Newcastle to secure a Qualifying Heat of the 2024 Inter Dominion series, bringing his bank up to $515,000. Also taking a big title was Renegade (Breckon Farms) who took out the Dobson Memorial 3YO Classic in Addington in 1:55.6, Bainbridge (Alexander Smith & Russ Woods) in 1:52.4 for a Hancock Championship heat at Menangle, and Stormryder (Durham Park) in 1:54.3 in a Rothacker Memorial Heat at Melton to bring his earnings past $217,000.
Also in the Melton winner’s circle was trotting mare Perfidious Sue (SC Bloodstock) in TR1:58.7 while fellow aged runners Lanai (Mathew Day) took a 1:54.1 win at Albion Park and Captain Blood (Bruce & Craig Cameron) a 1:53.5 at Menangle. CAPTAIN‘s young stock were in the money as always with a new two-year-old winner on debut at Albion Park in Just A Cool Dude (Solid Earth) and three-year olds Kabochon (I & K Sutherland) taking two in a row at Gloucester Park and Octagnoise (Brooklyn Lodge) saluting in Launceston.
Of our past roster it was BETTING LINE having another blinder with nine winners – Keep Betting, Harleequin, Whataretheodds, Classic Line, Isthisjustfantasty, Island Bouhinia, Melton Magnate, Killara Shotgun, Ozzie Punta and in America, his biggest star Abuckabett Hanover claimed the $325,000 Fanduel Championship in 1:48.1!
WESTERN TERROR is in next with five – Dark Terror, Seemeshineyheels, Raging Sea, Jessejames Shannon & Sassyola – and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK with four – Starzinhereyes, Smokeshow, Cant Eatovers & Alook To Like.
