STAY HUNGRY has had a huge week with two brand new two-year-old winners and topping the First Season Sires table for progeny average earnings here at home, while in North America he saw his first millionaire (Seven Colors following a $50,000 division of the MSM Grand Invitational at Yonkers) and his overall progeny earnings break through the $15,000,000 mark. The average earnings per starter in the northern hemisphere now sit at an incredible $62,800!
Representing him this week were fillies Whens Lunch (bred by Bred Elder) who saluted at Tamworth, and streeting the field at Bathurst was Zaras Special (Rickie Alchin).
It wouldn’t be a normal week without CAPTAINTREACHEROUS putting runs on the board and this time it was We Always Have Faith (Tardina Stud) leading the way with his 1:55.5 win at Albion Park taking his bank up to $120,000, while at Mildura, Go Away Again (P Hayes, M James & D Maffey) claimed a win to secured $47,000 in overall earnings. Three-year-old Kobochon (I & K Sutherland) pushed well into $44,000 territory with another win, this time at Pinjarra.
Of our past list, BETTING LINE was yet again in front – Back Up Line, Chilli Punter, Deebo & Line Up Jacquie all saluting this week – with SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (California Dreaming, Father Bob & Rough And Ready) and WELL SAID (Amys Baby Angel, Dooo Dont Think & The Blue Wren) each taking a treble. There were winners too for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Gov Starzzz), ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Oyster Stride) and BLISSFULL HALL (Jacks Up).
