CAPTAINTREACHEROUS once again proving his mettle with eight winners including the Listed Classic Nutrien Sales Classic 3YO C&G Final for Path To Greatness (bred by B Settree & S Caffyn) in 1:54! Also on her way to another big title was filly General Jen (McKerrow Bloodstock) who took the semi final of the Sires Stakes 3YO Fillies series at Addington ahead of fellow CAPTAIN filly Captains Mistress. Best wishes to both girls in the Final.
The three-year-old list also included Its Electrifying (Les Whiteside) who took his fourth consecutive win by 15.5m in 1:52.2 and also at Albion Park, French Fries (Solid Earth) in 1:52.1 by 10m, and in Hobart, a new winner in Nikita Jo (K & T Robson).
Of the older stock, De Goey (Vicki Hadley) notched up $129,000 with his Launceston win, and Chillin (Settree & Moore) hit $93,000 at Bunbury. His Australian progeny now average an incredible $82,000 in earnings! At Yonkers, his star mare Rocket Deo continued her winning ways by clocking 1:53.4 to take a $50,000 leg of the Blue Chip Matchmaker.
STAY HUNGRY filly Melfield Soryt (S & N Dickson) put two together this weekend, clocking 1:55.9 at Newcastle in the Ladyship Pace.
The yearling sale season also wrapped up on Sunday with CAPTAINTREACHEROUS again dominating the lists – his 40 sold lots averaged $108,000 with a total of $4.53m brought in by his progeny. TALL DARK STRANGER‘s average came in at over $35,000 and STAY HUNGRY yearlings brought in a total of $854,000 with an average of $21,000 – not bad for a sire whose North American progeny earnings average out at just under $69,000!
Of our past list BETTING LINE played another blinder with eight winners – Kushite Warrior, Hatties Jewel, Dee Jays Big Boy, Betting Origin, Rising Spirit, The Vicar of Dibley, Our George Boston and Classic Line – while there were winners too for WELL SAID (Triedtotellya) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Jive Master).
