ABUCKABETT HANOVER defeated the best of his generation en route to winning the prestigious $500,000 Tattersall’s Pace for three-year-old colts at The Red Mile. Driver Andrew McCarthy sent ABUCKABETT HANOVER into a tactical spot from post 9, settling into fifth through a :28 first quarter set by Perfect Sting. After a :55.2 half, ABUCKABETT HANOVER pulled to the one-one spot and raced to within two lengths of the lead at the three-quarters in 1:23.2. He then powered home in the stretch to win by a neck in 1:49.4 over Perfect Sting, Southwind Gendry and Charlie May. It was ABUCKABETT HANOVER’s seventh win of the season and boosted his earnings to $658,313 for trainer Tony Alagna.
