With the 2022 Yearling Sales complete across Australasia, it’s gratifying to see the results for our sire, CAPTAINTREACHEROUS. Coming off a stellar 2021 for his progeny on the racetrack, this season his yearlings were in strong demand, with 34 lots offered at seven sales selling for an average of $71,300 each. His sales topper was a colt in the New Zealand Bloodstock National Standardbred Sale at Christchurch – #318 (pictured above and below) from Bettor’s Delight mare, Imaginary Bet and was purchased for $200,000 by Kentuckiana Lodge Ltd.
All up CAPTAIN stock brought in $2,567,000 for astute breeders and vendors – congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to this new batch of potential juvenile stars hitting the track.
It’s also worth a nod to one of our most successful sires, ROCKNROLL HANOVER. With his final yearlings going through the 2021 ring, it is truly the end of an era but an outstanding one, fitting of his status – his two representatives averaged $90,000 with his colt son from Madison Louise (sold by Oakbank Estate) fetching $110,000 at the APG Melbourne sale in February, sold to Terry & Rosalie Cluse.
As always, our thanks go to breeders investing in stock by our World Class Sires, we look forward to having another quality offering for commercial breeders when our roster is announced later in the year.
