STAY HUNGRY with yet another two-year-old winner was the star first season sire’s highlight this week – Victree Busta (bred by J & K Norrish), saluted at Marburg, his 16th individual winner from a crop of just 48. In North America, his progeny now have average earnings per start of over $61,000 – a great value proposition for breeders this season, he still has a little room remaining on his Australian book!
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS stock just kept doing Captaintreacherous things, headlined by Treacherous Baby (B & C Whitelock) taking out the GROUP 1 NZSS 3YO Fillies Series Final in 1:55.7 at Addington to take her earnings over $193,000.
Majic Moment (WDC03 & D Neal) continued her brilliant season at Albion Park but recording a 1:51.6 win to take her bank past $131,000 while Bainbridge (Alex Smith & Russell Woods) posted win #6 in 1:52.8 at Menangle. Goodtime Libby (also Smith & Woods, with the Gibson Family Trust) took a fourth lifetime victory when she saluted at Charlton while at Globe Derby Park, our statesman sire had a new two-year-old winner in Captain Fearless (Wyndown Stud) who put 6.5m on his rivals. CAPTAIN‘s record with babies continues – in Australia, he leads the 2YO Sires table for average progeny earnings at an incredible $33,000 – a full $10,000 ahead of the next sire (Sweet Lou)!
Our past roster was well represented with doubles for BETTING LINE (Ozzie Punter in the Bendigo Anniversary Cup & Spitfire), WESTERN TERROR (Tamanisha Terror & Favouritehighlight), and ROCKNROLL HANOVER with Grey Cadillac picking up two wins in a week. FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Four Starzzz Ruby), WELL SAID (Warloch) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (South Coast Arden) also picked up winners this week.
