A big week for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS this week in both hemispheres!
The headline is undoubtedly three-year-old colt Captain Albano winning the $525,000 2024 Little Brown Jug at Delaware in a clean sweep after posting 1:49.2 to claim the elimination earlier on the card ahead of Captain Luke, with the other elimination won by another CAPTAIN colt in Captain’s Quarters (1:51.3). At The Red Mile, his daughter Captytreach won the $100,000 Kentucky Commonwealth 3YO Fillies Series Final in 1:49.2 but it was TALL DARK STRANGER colt Delray Beach who posted 1:52.2 to win the Kentucky Golden Rod Final on the same card.
At home, Bathurst threw up a brilliant Empire result with the first heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge for 2YO fillies a dead heat between STAY HUNGRY‘s latest winner Our Dance Monkey and rising CAPTAINTREACHEROUS star Treacherous Belle. At Menangle, a heat of the boys’ series was taken out by Hezatreacherous in 1:51.3, his third consecutive win and taking him to over $62,000 in earnings. Keayang Jigsaw posted another victory at Gloucester Park, Eternal Gold claimed his tenth win at Redcliffe, and at Penrith it was a CAPTAINTREACHEROUS three-year-old double with Destiny Stride (now at $56,000) and Squadron (11.6m) in the money.
Of our past roster, there were doubles for WESTERN TERROR (Caldedonian Terror & Our Uncle Jim) and BETTING LINE (Rebline & Lucky Zara), with winners for SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Tairlaw Toll), ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Kissmelvis) and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Ashford Shark).
