Eight solid winners for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with exciting times on the Vicbred horizon. He had seven runners in the top six of each Vicbred Super Sires Semi Final, including three winners – 2YO colt Stormryder, 3YO colt Petracca in 1:54.5, and mare Talk Time in 1:55.6, all at Melton. In the west, August Moon made her fifth consecutive win a big one, taking the Group 2 Westbred Classic at Gloucester Park while fellow three-year-olds Frankie Ferocious (by 15m in 1:51.0 at Albion Park) and Tokyo Rose (new winner in the Success Heat at Melton) were also on the board.
Captain Bellasario topped $141,000 in earnings with a win at Melton while at Methven, mare Millwood Indie took a good victory for connections. In Canada, CAPTAIN stock did very well too – in a new PB of 1:51, 2YO colt Remember The Alamo took the $94,000 Champlain Stakes, and 3YO filly Bellisima Hanover went 1:50.1 in the $79,999 Simcoe Stakes.
Of our past sires, WESTERN TERROR took honours this weekend with seven winners – Kimble, Rubins Plight, Yep Got Chooks, Dontbesillychilly, Hes A Terror, Dark Terror & Borselino. Both ARTISTIC FELLA (Impetuoso & Braeview Fella) and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Karinya Gill & Image Of Starzzz) had doubles, BLISSFULL HALL (Night School) and BETTING LINE (Deebo) were represented, and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE had four winners – Hit The Beach, Beach Ball, Soho Tsunami & Mondelo Beach.
