A huge weekend for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with eight winners including two Group victories! An Addington double started with 3YO colt Chase A Dream securing the GROUP 1 Sires Stakes Series in 1:55.9, followed soon after by 2YO Captains Mistress in the GROUP 2 Bionic Chance Bracelet, the filly’s second win in three starts. Filly Double Quick posted 1:55.2 at Ashburton to win the Pearson Memorial while fellow 3YO Franco Encore took his fourth win at Gloucester Park. Big margin wins for Scuttlebutt (14m, Bunbury) and Gawn (12m in 1:54.1, Maryborough), while both Eternal Gold and Master Charles broke through the $50,000 earnings mark at Albion Park. CAPTAIN‘s Australian progeny average earnings now sit at more than $76,000, and he leads the Australian 2YO Sires table. In North America, Ivy Park posted 1:51.3 at Pocono Downs to take a division of the Pennsylvania All Stars series.
Of our past sires, BETTING LINE absolutely smashed it this weekend, securing eight winners – My Great Eight, Diamond Shooz, I Bet You, Aurora Joy, Rock Steady, My Ultimate Levi, The Tri Line & Get Ya Bets On. WESTERN TERROR (Franco Western, Shireen, Western Showgirl & Victory George) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Serengeti Sunrise, Cala Greca, Drivetothebeach & Mondello Beach) each took four winners, while FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Ashford Shark), WELL SAID (Peter Fosberg) and ARTISTIC FELLA (Sweet Creation) were also represented.
