Another massive weekend for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS! Starting in Addington, he saw a three-year-old double, headlined by Chase A Dream (bred by Studholme Bloodstock) taking the GROUP 1 Flying Stakes in 1:54.3 to take his bank over $425,000, along with Renegade (Breckon Farms) who topped the $50,000 mark with his win. The NSW Breeders Challenge 2YO C&G Semi Final at Menagle was won in 1:52.9 by Hezatreacherous (Matt Day) to lead a CAPTAIN trifecta with Sanchez and Path To Greatness also on their way into the big money final. On the same card, the Listed Chant Memorial was taken out by Captains Knock (John Rutter) in 1:54.2, making an incredible $449,000 in earnings for the four-year-old.
Improving their earnings this weekend were also Madriagal (Brian Cowley) who set a PB of 1:53 at Albion Park to bring up $95,000 where Master Charles (J & L Wallace) also posted a 1:54.2 win to reach over $80,000. More Than This (B & B Stanley) was a new winner for CAPTAIN, scoring by 13m at Hobart. Over the strait, Captain Maastricht (the late John Munnerley) took a ninth win, posting 1:55.4 at Geelong to bring up $84,000 and further over the ditch at Alexandra Park, Skipper brought up a sixth victory to reach $69,000 in earnings.
In North America, TALL DARK STRANGER had a night out at Cumberland Run with Karma (1:53.4) and Accede (1:53.3) each taking a $40,000 leg of the Kentucky Sires Stakes.
Of our past list it was WELL SAID in front with a treble – Royal Speech, Triedtotellya and Punto Calente – while BETTING LINE (Line Dance & Milliewood) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Jaxon Beach & Remember Me Now) both had doubles.
