CAPTAIN always makes his mark at the yearling sales and this year is proving to be no exception… At the NZB Karaka sales, he sired the top three pacing lots sold including joint record Australasian sale price getters at $360,000, the Adore Me colt (Woodlands Stud) and the Bettor Twist colt (Breckon Farms). Alabar’s Gina Grace filly was third with $175,000 and in fifth was Breckon’s Delightful Kas colt at $150,000. Also in the top ten were Breckon’s Elle Mac filly ($130,000) and their TALL DARK STRANGER filly from Goodlookinggirl (also $130,000). CAPTAIN‘s other lots included a colt from Kayla Marie ($110,000), a filly from Ruby Rose ($90,000), and colt from Aliante ($50,000) while STRANGER‘s Bubbled Up colt brought $45,000.
Three of the top four lots at the APG Sydney sale were also CAPTAINTREACHEROUS lots – $135,000 bought the Bettor Coppagoodone colt, $130,000 for the Scarlet Babe filly, and the Tell Me Tales colt, $57,500.
Of our past roster, BETTING LINE (Deebo, Luvbite & Betting Origin) and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Polly Peachum, I Like What I See & Keilor Baby Shark) shared honours ahead of ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Full Swing Denario & Rocks Roy) and WESTERN TERROR (Hes A Terror). WELL SAID (The Blue Wren) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Bay of Biscay in the Group 3 Hondo Grattan Stakes) were also well represented over the weekend.
