Seven big winners for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS, headlined by the smashing 1:52.2 win by two-year-old colt Captain Perfect (bred by Durham Park) in the Vicbred Platinum Home Grown 2YO C&G Final at Melton.
There were race day doubles at both Invercargill – where Lakelsa (B & A Sinclair) claimed her second in a row to take the 2024 Robin Dundee Crown in 1:55.4 and three-year-old Magician (Taffy Ltd) took his bank to over $56,000 in Sires Stakes Southern Solstice – and at Albion Park, with two of CAPTAIN‘s big money earners taking super fast wins: Madrigal (Brian Courtney) in 1:53.9 to go to $117,000 in stakes and Captain Shuffles (Bill Crosby) who hit $220,000 with his 1:50.8 run. In Mildura it was Keayang Crippa (Marg Lee) by 17.6m and Iam The Captain (Richard Camilleri) reached $167,000 with a win at Maitland.
Of our former roster, yet again BETTING LINE proved to be the solid bread-and-butter sire, securing five winners – Fashion Icon, Rubbleonthedouble, Maas Betting Again, Killara Shogun and Ozzie Punta – while SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE took a treble (Port Au Prince, Avaiden & Rough And Ready) and WESTERN TERROR was represented by Yesnomaybeso.
