A huge weekend for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS both here and abroad… In Canada, 2YO colt Captains Quarters became this year’s $970,000 Metro Pace winner at Woodbine Mohawk Park in 1:49.3, while over the border, his latest mulit-millionaire son Allywag Hanover posted 1:47.3 to take victory in the 2023 $175,000 Hoosier Harrah’s Park Pacing Derby.
At home Treachery bumped her earnings past $300,000 with a win in the Tailamade Lombo at Melton ahead of fellow CAPTAIN mare Tough Tilly. His older stock had a great run with wins for 5YOs Captain Oh Captain & Hot And Treacherous (Albion Park), La Captain in 1:52.8 at Melton, and 4YO Jillibyjacksparrow (Hamilton).
Two new two-year-old winners added to his long 2023 list with Dreams Are Free saluting on debut at Winton and Miss Shahja up at Central Wheatbelts. Captain Tom made it five wins from ten starts at Winton, the 3YO now having banked nearly $50,000 in stakes.
Of our past sires, SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE shone with four winners – No Motive, Andaman Bay, Act Now and Lamandier – while there were doubles for both BETTING LINE (I Betyouwantano & Dee Jays Big Boy) and WELL SAID (Im Reggie & Aphorism). FOUR STARZZZ SHARK was represented by Holi Starzzz.
