CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with another GROUP 1 winner – filly Millwood Nike kept her unbeaten streak in tact to win the GR1 Caduceus Classic at Alexandra Park, while at the same meeting, 2YO Skipper won on debut. The Withers 3YO Classic on Kilmore Cup night went to 2YO CAPTAIN son Captain Ravishing – by 14.4m in 1:54.6 – and at Eugowra, 3YO filly Smooth Bon Bon put 13.8m on rivals to take a heat of the Canola Cup.
In North America, the Liberty Bell series is underway and our boys remain dominant, with five legs going to progeny of STAY HUNGRY (Lyons Surfing, 2YO C&G in 1:51.2) and CAPTAINTREACHEROUS (2YO Ken Hanover in 1:52; 3YOs Captain Cowboy, Captain Cowgirl and Energetic Hanover).
At Freehold, CAPTAIN filly Southwind Java took a leg of the Homegrown, while at Harrah’s Hoosier, 2YO colt Ervin Hanover claimed the $110,000 Elevation in 1:50.4 and Warrawee Vital posted 1:49.1 to win the Carl Becker Memorial.
Of our past sires, WESTERN TERROR had another top weekend, with four winners (Aunty Bella, Im The Mightygramps, Fomo & Love Your Work) while there were doubles for both SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Teddy Baker & Cuttysark) and HESTON BLUE CHIP (Sinister & Sir Richard Lee). WELL SAID (Gilardi) and BETTING LINE (Sovrana) also registered winners.
