A big week for our boys with STAY HUNGRY gelding Louie Vee remaining unbeaten to take a heat of the 2YO C&G WA Sales Classic at Gloucester Park and ten winners for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS! The statesman sire had new winners in Lanning (Warragul), Backwards First (Temora by 11m), Alpha Stride (Charlton) and on debut, Bittersweet (Bathurst), and a back-to-back winner in Bruzer for a Globe Derby double with Treacherous Rock. Niki Nah Nah topped $90,000 in earnings with her 12m Mildura win, while Majic Moment brought up $80,000 with her 1:52.7 run at Menangle. At Wagga, Captains Knock clocked a speedy 1:54.2 and at Addington, filly All You Need Is Me put up 1:55.6.
The 2023 New Zealand Horse of the Year was also taken out by CAPTAINTREACHEROUS star Millwood Nike, as well as the NZ 3YO Pacing Filly of the Year for her three GROUP ONE wins and an unbeaten stretch of seventeen runs. His colt Chase A Dream was also named NZ 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year.
His Sydney APG sales results were also solid with Ima Grumpee Possum colt bringing $62,500 and his Our LIssome filly $42,000 while TALL DARK STRANGER‘s colts brought in $60,000 each (Fromelles & Ima Mystery Girl).
WESTERN TERROR had a great week with Under The Starzzz, Shehadi, Hes A Terror, Send It, Favouritehighlight, Ashlee Nitro, Im Alrite, Dream Maze and Im The Mightygramps all in the money, with BETTING LINE not far behind with Double Lines, Captain Barnato, Ultimate Cruza, Jilliby Misstress (twice), Saint Veran, My Ultimate Levi and Tilly Jayne on the winners’ list. FOUR STARZZZ SHARK had five winners – Unethical, Filly Thirteen, Letsgobro, Lifeisbutadream and Giant Jackson – while SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE had six – Xlendi, Hawaiianbeach, Alberto, Mercurius, Lamandier & Botany Bay Warror. WELL SAID was represented by Peter Fosberg and ARTSPEAK by Peaksart and Our Ultimate Bonny.
