A solid Melton double for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with The Lost Storm going back to back to win the Bold David FFA in 1:53.9 and bring his earnings past $350,000 while Captain Hammerhead scored his third win in four starts to take his bank to $223,000. Not to be outdone, Kiwi bred mare Madrigal clocked 1:55.7 at Albion Park to notch up over $62,000 in lifetime earnings. In North America, the action was at Harrah’s where CAPTAIN three year olds were to the fore – Captain Skippy took a $51,000 division of the 3YO C&G Pennsylvania Sires Stakes in 1:50.2, while in The Stallion Series divisions, it was Arson (1:50.1) and another NZ-bred rig, Rock The Captain (out of ROCKNROLL HANOVER mare, Rocknroll Arden) who took the money in 1:52.2.
WESTERN TERROR led the way of our past roster with four winners – Send It yet again, Western Action, Western Arterra and Midnight Terror – followed by BETTING LINE with a treble – Quickshift Girl, Betting Ranger and Younggiftedandblack. WELL SAID also took three (Extreme Sea, Repartee & Peter Fosberg) while there were winners for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Beef City Starzzz) and ARTISTIC FELLA (Andrew Swagger).
