Also for CAPTAIN were colt Hezatreacherous (Mathew Day) in 1:55 by 19m at Newcastle to bring up $100,000, Franco Encore (Spreydon Lodge) hit $75,000 at Gloucester Park and Master Charles (J & L Wallace) reached $91,000 with a 1:54.3 win at Albion Park. Spiritofangel (K & A Charles) cracked $100,000 at Bunbury, De Goey (Vicki Hadley) put two together for $135,000 at Launceston, and in Invercargill Double Jeopardy (K & A Spicer and D & W Fleming) claimed the Southern Cups Final for earnings of $96,000.
In North America, CAPTAIN filly Rodeo Drive Deo took a $32,000 Home Grown Series race at The Meadowlands, while at Yonkers mare Rocket Deo posted 1:52.2 in a $50,000 Blue Chip Matchmaker leg.
