A big few days for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with eight local winners and a headline victory in North America. New Zealand was CAPTAIN‘s this weekend, with doubles at both Addington – mare Obsession and three-year-old Franco Sinatra making it five wins from eight starts – and Winton (Gronkowski & Millwood Indi). Another couple of three-year-old standouts were Captains Catch who clocked 1:53.4 at Wagga, and De Goey who won again at Hobart. At the metro tracks, it was Captain Masstrict at Melton and in 1:53.4 at Albion Park, Captain Shuffles.
At Yonkers, juvenile Captain Batboy put his best hoof forward to win the 2023 $250,000 Messenger Stakes.
A big spread of sires from our past rosters were represented this week too. Single winners for ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Tact Tory), ARTSPEAK (Aunty Frances) and BLISSFULL HALL (Dunno Jo) and doubles for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Lavender Dolly & Apache Wind), ARTISTIC FELLA (Aunty Bessy & Yayas Hot Heart) and WELL SAID (Petes Said So & Jonique).
BETTING LINE took a treble with Dannemora, The Vicar of Dibley and Betting Ranger, as did WESTERN TERROR (Sent It, Dontbesillychilli & Dream Maze) and HESTON BLUE CHIP (Illawong Phoenix, Heston Blue Streak, and with her fourth consecutive win, Courtney Katarina). SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE had four winners post five wins – Kiavino Stride twice in three days, Wheres Our Money, Serengeti Sunrise & Port Au Prince.
