A massive weekend for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS, headlined by the Group 2 4YO Bonanza at Melton, won by Frankie Ferocious (third consecutive win to bring up $135,000 in earnings) in 1:51.6 with the FIRST FOUR PLACINGS all by our star sire. At Marburg CAPTAIN secured a treble with Rubini, Highy Respected who has almost reached $70,000, and Treacherous One who trounced rivals by 18m. Captains Pick went 1:53.8 at Albion Park and at Bendigo Captain Wilson cracked $75,000, while there were CAPTAIN winners at Newcastle (Our Ultimate Ivy), Leeton (Burton) and Hamilton (Keayang Moroccan).
Off the track, the sales continued in Melbourne with the Australian Pacing Gold at Oaklands Junction with a solid consignment of Empire stallion-sired lots. CAPTAINTREACHEROUS led the way as usual with his Madison Louise colt bringing $72,500, followed by TALL DARK STRANGER whose top lot was a $50,000 Vouvray Beach colt and STAY HUNGRY‘s best was also a colt from Keayang Hayley who fetched $45,000.
Of our past sires, yet again it was BETTING LINE at the head of the list with five winners (Perun, Lulu Lucifer, Betting Origin, Buddy Perfect & Ubetcha Tigerpie) followed by SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE with four (Playa Blanca, Ourbeachbabe, Sir Roman & Wills Way). WELL SAID (Royal Speech), FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Five Starzzz Shark) and ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Hilly) were also represented over the weekend.
