Another big one for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS, recording eight winners across the country and a few North American stars but we’ll start with yet another impressive two-year-old winner for STAY HUNGRY in Sharp Interest (bred by P & S Ryan) who won in just her second start at Charlton to give the rising star sire fourteen for the season. This was off the back of a 1:49.2 Keystone Classic division win at The Meadows in the US for his three-year-old filly Sarasota Hanover.
CAPTAIN also had two new two-year-olds on the winners’ list – fillies Homebound (Matt Day) on debut at Bathurst and Crusader Miss (Mal Moddy) in 1:55.9 by a massive 16m at Newcastle. At Melton, another of his brilliant mares Sahara Breeze (Bruce Paul + Peter Watkinson) hit the $240,000 mark with her 1:55.1 win while the boys were represented by Chart Topper (Lauriston Bloodstock) in a heat of the Canola Cup, Keyang Tokyo (Marg Lee) reaching $84,000 with his 7-Eleven Cup win at Kilmore and Treacherous Times (M & S Moloney) with win #15 at Bendigo. At Redcliffe, CAPTAIN secured a double with Master Charles (J & L Wallace) taking his bank to $76,000 and Eternal Gold going back-to-back for $66,000.
There’s a reason CAPTAINTREACHEROUS runners in Australia can boast a super impressive average of more than $80,000 each! In North America his juveniles continue to fire – two-year-olds Rodeo Drive Diva (Red Mile, 1:51, $77,000 Beach Glass division) and Daily Double Deo (Freehold, 1:55.3, $50,000 Renaissance Final) represented while Rocket Deo claimed herself an $85,000 division of the Bluegrass Series at The Red Mile in 1:51.4.
BETTING LINE and WESTERN TERROR shared honours this week from our past roster, with eight winners each. BETTING LINE was represented by Ya Bottom Dollar, Our George Boston, I Bet You, Island Bouhinia, Our Better Bro, Kimchi, Remission & Gipsy Princess while WESTERN TERROR had Our Uncle Jim saluting twice, Skippers Swan Song, Blues Terror, Jay Bee, Dee Terror, Ashlee Nitro, Raging Sea and Major Mickey. For SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE a treble – Shallow Beach, Tairlaw Toll & Mymatepog – and a double for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK in Riviera Rose and Jimmy Joyce. Represented this week also were ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Rocknroll Raider), ARTSPEAK (Aunty Frances), JET LAAG (My Two Eves) and WELL SAID (Spudmeister).
