The final drafts of lots offered by our standout sires TALL DARK STRANGER, STAY HUNGRY and CAPTAINTREACHEROUS will go under the hammer this Sunday at Inglis Oaklands in the Nutrien Melbourne sale:
STAY HUNGRY is from multi-millionaire World Champion mare, My Little Dragon from statesman sire, Somebeachsomewhere it’s no surprise his results in North America have been incredible including average earnings per start of over $67,000 and seventeen sub-1:50 runners. Flying his flag high again were World Champion Seven Colors ($1.15m) and mare Zanatta ($810,000).
His debut crop in Australia were equally impressive, from 48 he had 29 starters for 20 winners and headed the first season sires table for average earnings at $17,000 – more than $3,000 over his nearest rival.

TALL DARK STRANGER, multi-millionaire, USA 2019 2YO of the Year and 2020 USA Horse of the Year, Pacer of Year and 3YO Colt of the Year, was recently elected to the USA Harness Racing Hall of Fame. TALL DARK STRANGER won 19 of 22 career starts while banking over $2.3m. The fastest ever son of Bettor’s Delight retired after his three-year-old season and nineteen mares bred to TALL DARK STRANGER his first North American season were millionaires, including Anndrovette (1:48, $3.54m), Put On A Show (1:47.3, $2.36m) and Warrawee UBeaut (2,1:48.3, $1.79m). Of this first crop in North America who earnt over$1.29m, 11 two-year-olds recorded times faster than 1:53 including Kentucky Sires Stakes (Oakgrove) final winning filly, Karma (1:52.1) and Delray Beach (1:51.2) who took the 2024 Kentucky Golden Rod Final.
He has just secured his very first winner in Australasia, the two-year-old Mydnight taking victory in just his second race start.
